Soyulla Artists is seeking an Administrative Assistant. Soyulla is in its 14th season of managing high-caliber artists in performance and teaching opportunities in the New York City metro area. Our office is located in Jersey City near the Grove St. PATH train: a quick and easy commute from Manhattan. Office hours are 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Monday through Friday; total time required is 25-30 hours per week. Pay is $19 per hour, and a $5 per diem for transportation reimbursement is also available. The position requires a contract commitment from the date of hire until August 31, 2016, and renewable annually thereafter. The start date is immediate, ideally no later than December 9, 2015.

-A thorough knowledge of classical music: a musician STRONGLY preferred, but not required.
-Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in a related field: music performance, music education, arts administration
-At least 2 years of office experience
-Professional reliability and etiquette
-Interpersonal and organizational skills
-Office skills: typing, phone, copy / scan
-Computer skills: e-mail, internet, Word, Excel, Gmail for business
-Web and/or graphic design skills: Photoshop, Wix
-Social media savviness: Facebook, Twitter
-Excellent written and spoken English

A very strong candidate will also have:
-Advanced musical training
-Master's Degree in a related field: arts administration, music performance, music education
-Familiarity with musical genres other than classical: jazz, rock, popular, musical theatre
-Training and talent for publicity / advertising / media outreach
-Marketing / sales / promotional skills
-Audio and video editing skills
-Comfort with both PC and Mac computer platforms
-Familiarity with NYC publicity outlets
-Other ideas and talents to contribute that we haven't even considered!
